Tanya, 50th Edition Pocket Format of the First Edition Published by the Rebbe - New York 1954 - Likutei Amarim Tanya, by Rabbi ShneurZalman of Liadi, founder of the Chabad-Lubavitch Chassidut and one of the greatest disciples of the Maggid of Mezritch, New York 1954. 50th edition pocket format. the first edition published by the Rebbe of Chabad, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn of Lubavitch, and on which all following editions of the Tanya are based. IIn the foreword of the book, after the details of the additions and corrections in this edition, the Rebbe writes : ”... how many times did the Admor [the Rayatz] speak of the need to print the Tanya in such a format that it would be convenient to carry it in the pocket of one’s clothes, and in any case be ready to go on the way. And after two editions of the Tanya with the additons were published, we are also publishinh a pocket format - in this edition, some of the printing errors of the previous editions were corrected.
