Signatures of Rabbi Yechezkel Moshe Fischman Av Beit Din of Miskolc, Rabbi Meir Av Beit Din of Horoshitz and More: Yalkut Shimoni on the Torah with an Approbation by the Semichat Chachamim - Frankfurt an Der Oder, 1709 - Thick volume in a large format of Midrash Yalkut Shimoni, containing a compilation of early Midrashim including some that have disappeared over the years and this book is their only source. Attributed to Rabbeinu Shimon Ashkenazi, the leading Darshan of Frankfurt (one of Rabboteinu the Rishonim of the 13th century). The Press of Michl Gottschalk, Frankfurt an Der Oder, 1709.  This is Section I: on the Torah. [1], 313 leaves. With a foreword by Rabbi Avraham Yisrael ben Rabbi Yaakov Kopel ben Rabbi Aharon Levi Heller, the book's editor. Approbation by contemporary Gedolei Torah headed by Rabbeinu Naftali Katz the author of the Semichat Chachamim . Impressive title page with an engraved illustration of Moshe and Aharon and David and Goliath. Tears and taping - partly affecting the text. Stains and other belmishes. Late binding. Good overall condition.  On the title page of the book, signatures and notations:  ~ ”נאום מנחם מענדל בן....?”. ~ ”קניתי זה לכבוד צורי וקוני הק' משה בן עקיבא ז”ל”. ~ ”הק' מאיר הארשיץ” - apparently, the handwritten signature of the Gaon Rabbi Meir Leib Halevi, Av Beit Din of Horoshitz for approx. fifty years (the father of the Gaon Rabbi Tuvia Segal Av Beit Din of Mezeritsh, author of Berurei Hamidot).  ~ ”יח”מ פישמאן” - the handwritten signature of the Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Moshe Fischman Av Beit Din of Miskolc. And a notation in later script: ”לזכרון מיורשי הרב יחזקאל משה פישמאן זצ”ל”. ~ Signature and stamps of Rabbi Aryeh Leib Kahanovich (1929-2001) Rav of the Tel Arza neighborhood and Shikkun Chabad of Jerusalem.  *** The Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Moshe Fischman (1796-1875), the son of Rabbi Avraham Lofshitz who was a disicple of the Noda BiYehuda. Rabbei Yechezkel studied under his father and then became a leading disicple of Rabbi Elazar Low, the Shemen Roke'ach. For his wedding, he recieved the title of Chaver by Rabbeinu the Maharam Bennet. After 15 years as Rav of Shapov, by the recommendation of the Chasam Sofer, he was accepted as Rav and Av Beit Din of Miskolc and the vicinity. Corresponded with Maran the Chasam Sofer and with the Maharam Esh and the Mahari Assad. His son is the Gaon Rabbi Sheraga Feisch Fischman Av Beit Din of Klausenburg and in his old age, Maggid Meisharim of the famed Pressburg community.
