Handwriten Signature of the Admor Rabbi Yosef Meir of Spinka the Imrei Yosef - Sefer HaAruch Lublin, 1883 - A book with the handwritten signature of the Admor Rabbi Yosef Meir Weiss of Spinka author of the Imrei Yosef: ”הק' יוסף מאיר וייס דיין מצוין דק' מונקאטש” . This signature (partly faded) is apparently a trial or possibly he was referring to his father, Rabbi Shmuel Zvi, who was a dayan in Munkatch. It has been, however, compared with Rabbeinu's other signatures and found matching. This copy was inherited by his grandson, the Admor of Melitz Ashdod Shlita, whose signature appears on the title page. He had received it from his in-law the Admor Rabbi Nachman Kahana of Spinka, the Imrei Yosef's grandson. On one of the leaves, a small handwritten correction.  Sefer HaAruch, two sections. Lublin, 1883. 344; 330 pp. Some moth perforations and damage. Slightly dry paper. Stains and minor blemishes. Good overall condition. Bound in a fine new binding.  *** The Admor Rabbi Yosef Meir Weiss of Spinka, the Imrei Yosef (1838-1909), the son of the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Zvi Weiss Av Beit Din of Munkatch. Studied under Gedolei Hador and was a leading disciple of the Maharam Esh and Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Eisenstein of Ziditchov, from whom he received the principles of Chassidut and Kabbalah. After the passing of his rav of Ziditchov, he became close to the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He lived in Spinka, where he served as Admor since ca. 1870. His major book, the Imrei Yosef on Torah and Moadim, was printed after he passed away and is considered a Segulah book. Rabbeinu passed away in Spinka in 1909 and his bones were brought to Israel in 1972 and buried in the Segulah cemetery of Petach Tikvah.
