The book is edited in the format of three sermons for each Parasha ”והם שלשה דרשות נחמדות על כל פרשה ופרשה” . Appearing at the end of the book are detailed indices of the Biblical verses and Mamrei Chazal, edited by Rabbeinu the author, a rare phenomenon in contemporary books. 258, [8] leaves. Bound with another book by the author, Sefer Devar Shmuel, ”which is a commentary on all Mamarei Razal appearing in the book Eleh Hadvarim Rabba”. Fine ancient leather binding. Stains and fungus stains (non-active). Small tears along the edges of several leaves. Good overall condition.  The author Rabbeinu Shmuel Hagiz (d. 1623) a famed sage of Fes and head of the town's synagogue. For varied reasons, Rabbeinu travelled through various countries including Libya and Italy, where he published his books Dvar Shmuel on Midrash Rabba, Mevakesh Hashem and a Sephardic Machzor. His book Mevakesh Hashem was printed only once; nevertheless, it is cited in books by leading contemporary rabbis. His only son was the famed Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Hagiz authot of Shut Halachot Ketanot.
