The Or Same'ach of Maran the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Shmuelevitz with His Handwritten Signature and Glosses! Or Same'ach Two Sections - First Edition - Riga-Warsaw, 1910-1926 - Two sections of the work Or Same'ach on the Rambam's Mishneh Torah by Rabbi Meir Simcha Hacohen of Dvinsk author of the Meshech Chochmah. Published in installments in varied places.  First editions of the following sections: 1. Sefer Hafla'ah, Zeraim, Avodah, Korbanot, Tahara - Warsaw, 1910. 126 leaves. 2. Mada, Ahava, Zemanim - Riga, 1926. [1], 92 leaves.  Bound together as a single volume in a binding that had belonged to Maran the Rosh Yeshiva. Scuffs to binding. New embossed fabric spine. Professional restorations to the title page and following leaves. Stains and marks of usage. Small tears along the edges of several leaves. Good overall condition.  On the front gaurd leaf, the full handwritten signature of Maran the Rosh Yeshiva of Mir the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Shmeelevitz. On the back guard leaf, his stamp from his time in Mir before the Holocaust. In two places in the book, short glosses handwritten by him.  Rabbi Moshe Feinstein wrote about him: “The entire world rests on the shoulders of Rabbi Chaim.” Rabbi Chaim Leib Shmuelevitz (1902-1979) was known as Chaim Stochiner after his city of birth, Stochin. He served as Rosh Yeshiva of Mir in Lithuania, succeeding his father-in-law. During the Holocaust, he smuggled the yeshiva to Shanghai and made efforts to take care of the other refugees there alongside the Mashgiach Rabbi Yechezkel Lowenstein. Was known for his kind heart.
