”For Two Hundred Years there has not been such an Iluy” Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Pogremansky - Extremely Rare! - Letter with important content - handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Pogremansky - addressed to his friend the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Zuckerman - Paris after the Holocaust Rabbi Mordechai sent his letter to his friend the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Zuckerman  - a disciple of the Chofetz Chaim, who was with him in the Kovno Ghetto and continued to wander with him until they were miraculously rescued. The letter also refers to the Tzaddik gaon Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Winklestein, who was the third member in their hiding in the Kovno Ghetto. The three were miraculously rescued when the Nazis bombed the building in which the three were hiding. Rabbi Zuckerman told the story on several occasions, expressing his deep gratitude to Hashem (for the full story, see Yated Ne'eman, Mussaf Shabbat Kodesh, Parashat Balak 2008).  In the letter, Rabbi Mordechai expresses concern for Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak, asking about him and requasting Rabbi Zuckerman to make sude he is taking care of himself ”וואס מאכט און געזונד אונזער טייערער ר' אברהם יצחק... ער איז זייער אובגעשוואכט אין געזונד... ער זאל זיך היטען אין געזונעד...”. The three Tzaddikim survived the Holocaust yet the most famed of them, Rabbi Pogremansky passed away in 1950. Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Winkelstein passed away in 1988 and Rabbi Mordechai Zuckerman in 2008.  Extremely rare! The content of the letter has never been published! A leaf written on both sides. A tear to the upper part of the leaf, fold lines and stains.  Handwritten in Yiddish. 11X25 cm.   *** The Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Pogremansky (1903-1050) a great Iluy about whom the Devar Avarahm of Kovna said: ”For two hundred years there has not been such an Iluy...” . Studied under the Mashgi'ach Rabbi Eliyahu Lupian in Kelm who stated that in Heaven he shall be repaid for being his Rav! He was miraculously saved during the Holocaust when a Jew was ordered by his father, in a dream, to locate and save Rabbeinu! After the War, he established a yeshiva for She'erit Hapletah in France. Passed away in Switzerland several years later. Maran the Chazon Ish attended his funeral crying bitterly!. His widow married the Admor of Sassov Rabbi Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Teitelbaum-Mayer.
