Fine Copy in an Ancient Leather Binding: Selichot per the Custom of the Ashkenazim of Italy - Venice, 1600 - ”Selichot with fine commentaries compiled and edited per the custom of the Ashkenazic community [of Italy]... and at its beginning there is a Viduy and some Selichot and Akeidot and Pizmonim and Kinnot and Piyyutim that were said by...the Ashkenazim... at the end of the book, a table... and we have added in it all the Dinim of the Taniyot [Hilchot Ta'anit of the Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim] by the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Karo, with glosses by Rabbi Moshe Isserles [The Rema]...”.  Printed by Juan Bragadin at the house of Juan di Gara. Venice, 1600. 132 leaves.  In one of the Piyyutim, a notation in ancient script, apparently a correction by the censor.  A rare large format of a Seder Selichot, printed with fine fonts on quality paper. A fine copy in a fine, ancient leather binding . On the last leaf, the prayer of El Melech and Yud Gimel Midot on the entire page, with ornamental initials. This page is with restored tears and a completion of the missing word in ancient script. Stains. Candle wax drippings. Minor blemishes. Good overall condition.  Unique characteristics of these Selichot:  ~ With Hilchot Ta'anit by Rabbeinu the author Rabbi Yosef Karo and Hagahot HaREma and Dinim titled Moreh Tzeddek - edited by Rabbi Yitzchak ben Rabbi Yaakov Segal of Herlsheim, who is also the author of the commentary on the Selichot (printed in his name in Selichit that were published in the same year in Venice in Machzor Hadrat Kodesh). ~ On leaf 2-3: Viduy Karov Lamalkot and at its beginning, the author's foreword, without his name. In Shir Chadash printed at the end of the foreword, the author writes ”ושמי אם לא הודעתי לקוראהו. בקרבו ימצא”, implying to what he wrote in the foreword:  ”יצרתיו אף עשיתיו ברוך [אבן-ברוך] הטוב והמטיב”. Viduy Karov Lamalkot was published separately [Venice, ca. 1600] as a printout from this Sefer Selichot.  ~ On leaf 4-6: Leshomrim Laboker. Piyyutim and Selichot for Tikkun Chatzot.  ~ On leaf 129b: Minhag Hachavurah... of the Shomrim Laboker Ashkenazim which began here in Venice of the third of Adar 1596.  These SElichot are based on the Venice 1548 edition with the omission of one Selichah from there. Added in this edition are five Selichot for Mussaf of Yom Kippur, two prayers for the prayer leader on Yamim Nora'im and Selichot for Ta'anit Yachid.
