Rare Treasure! Fine Complete Set in Ancient Wooden and Leather Bindings! Talmud Bavli Printed by Emanuel Benvenisti - Amsterdam, 1644-1648 - Complete set of the Talmud Bavli, ”with Rashi's commentary and Tosfot and Piskei Tosfot and Rabbeinu Asher and the Rambam's commentary on the Mishnayot...with several virtues. The first is that its editing is based on Talmud books that were edited by Gedolei Hador...”. A rare and important edition of the Bavli Talmud that was printed by Rabbi Emanuel Benvenisti in Amsterdam, 1644-1648. The printing of this Shas began on Sivan 18, 1644 and according to the colophon was completed in 1648. As far as we know, it was an edition of 3000 copies; however, today, there are almost no complete sets of this important edition. At the end of Mishnayot Taharot, on the last page, ”the editor's apology”, the Gaon Rabbi Avraham ben Rabbi Yehoshua Av Beit Din of the Asheknazic community of Amsterdam at the time who recalls that ”due to the war” he escaped from Worms to Amsterdam. About this edition he writes that this edition is based on the editions printed in Venice, Lublin and Krakow and also on the Rashal and therefore it can be relied on. See more: R.N.N.
