Manuscript of Refu'ot and Segulot - Russia Poland Early 19th Century - Sefer Harefu'ot - 85 Refu'ot (remedies) and Segulot - mainly for a barren woman and for epilepsy - 'several matters in the Ribash' writings' - Russia Poland Early 19th century. Written at the beginning of the manuscript: ”מסורת בידינו שבמשך הזמן שהיה אשמדאי אצל שלמה ה' גילה לו סודות עמוקים וגם הרבה סגולות ורפואות כאשר למראה עיני היה כמה ענינים בכתבי ריב”ש ז”ל ובתוכם ראיתי בזה הלשון... ” [We hold a tradition that during the time Asmodeus was with Solomon, he revealed deep secrets to him, as well as many Segulot and remedies. Indeed, I personally saw several matters in the writings of the Ribash, and among them, I saw these very words...”. The manuscript then introduces eighty five interesting Segulot and remedies. Most of the Segulot are for barren women and for giving birth to a boy. There are also many Segulot for epilepsy patients. The content is almost completely taken from Sefer Toldot Adam attributed to the famed Mekubalim Rabbi Eliyahu Baal shem Tov and Rabbi Yoel Baal She, (its first edition was published in Zholkva in 1720). Sefrei Segulot in Ashkenazic script are extremely rare! [6] leaes. 11 written pp. 17X19 cm. Some minor moth perforations. Some stains. Good condition. Not bound. Appearing on the last page are stamps of the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Feimer (II) of Slutzk, the son of the Gaon Rabbi Meir Feimer Av Beit Din of Slutzk. Refused to succeed his father as Av Beit Din of Slutzk and served as Rav of the Balei Batim community of Slutzk. In his old age, he lived in New York.
