The That was Published as a Segulah for Zera shel Kayma by the Son-in-Law of Rabbeinu of Sanz! Duda'im Basadeh - Chassidut First Edition Lemberg, 1859 - Sefer Duda'im Basadeh ”on Chamisha Chumshei Torah and Rimzei Yamim Noraim and Shalosh Regalim and some Likkutim and Drushim”, a Chassidic work by the Gaon Rabbi Reuven Halevi Horowitz Av Beit Din of Dzornovtza. With approbation by Rabbeinu Hakadosh of Sanz, the Divrei Chaim, whose son-in-law published this book (see below). First edition printed by Rabbi Avraham Yosef Madpis Segal, Lemberg, 1859. Stefansky Chassidut 131. [2], 144 leaves. Moth perforations. Stains. Taping and other varied blemishes, affecting the text of one leaf. Old binding with wear. Good-fair overall condition.  Segulah for Zera shel Kayma The book was edited by the authro's grandson, Rabbi Eliezer Yerucham Brun of Krakow, who was the son-in-law of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. In the foreword to the book, the publisher pours his heart out, noting that he still has no children. He writes a touching plea, praying that by merit of publishing his grandfather's Divrei Torah ” his grandfather's merit will grant him a Zera shel Kayma , which to this day I have been lacking...”. He ends with a prayer for Zera shel Kayma: ”אתפלל לפניך יוצרי עתירתי זכור רחמיך, יכמרו רחמיך וחסדיך, חניני מהר בזרע של קיימא, לאריכות ימים ושנים ...”. The book's title was given to it by Rabbeinu of Sanz, based on the verse: ”וימצא ראובן דודאים בשדה”. The Tzaddik's blessing comes true: indeed, several years later, his son and successor was born: Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Krakow (1874-1942) thus turning the book into an amulet and Segulah among Chassidim. It is interesting to note that the son who was born due to the Segulah, Rabbi Menachem Mendel, was the one who eventually published in 1897 the second edition of the book, as living proof of the miracle that occurred to his father, the first publisher.  On the title page, the handwritten signature and stamp of the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Hacohen Wisenfeld of Apta: ”יעקב הכהן וויזענפעלד מאפטא”; on verso of the title page, a lengthy Chidush handwritten by him.  The Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Hacohen Wisenfeld (passed away in 1926) the Rav of Zaklikov (Lublin district). Was born in Apta. For most of his life, he worked as a merchant. When he was approx. fifty, after being forced to close down his business, he agreed to accept a rabbinic position in Zaklikov, a position he held for 25 years. He owned a library of thousands of books. From his Chidushim, only his glosses on the sheets of some books had survived and only a small part of it was published (See Kovetz Etz Chaim - Bobov and Shut Sha'arei Deah). Additional stamps of his son-in-law: ”הרב טוביה גוטמן הכהן רפופורט רב חופ”ק טורונטו” - served as Rav in Toronto, Canada.   *** The author Rabbi Reuven Halevi Horowitz of Żarnowiec (1754-1830), the son of Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Blau Av Beit Din of Navipoli. Was a disicple of Rabbi Yonasan Eibeschutz and Rabbi Shmelke of Nikolsburg. Followed Rabbi Elimelech of Lizhensk and the Chozeh of Lublin, who said of him that he was the soul of Rav Hamnuna Saba and the third of the 36 Tzaddikim Nistarim of the generation. The Rav of Apta said of him that he was ”Kadosh Elyon Nora”. Rabbeinu served as Rav of Gutein, Navipoli Żarnowiec - a town about which his Rav, the Chozeh of Lublin, stated that it was ”Kulah Cohanim”.  After his Rav's passing, he became Admor and had many followers.
