Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Admor Rabbi Menachem Nachum Friedman of Itzkan-Shtefanesht - Rare!!! - Interesting and original letter - written in square script - Handwritten and Signed by the Admor Rabbi Menachem Nachum Friedman of Itzkan-Shtefanesht - addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Leib Zilberman Av Beit Din of Safed.  In his letter, the Admor thanks him for his blessings for the New Year and doubles his blessings for a year of life and blessing, happiness, success, wealth and respect: ”שנה טובה ומבורכת, שנת חיים וברכה, שנת אושר והצלחה, שנת עושר וכבוד...”. The Admor, who was one of the few who supported to a certain degree the Zionist Movement, writes an original blessings at the end of his letter: ”ונזכה בשנה זו לקחת את המנדט מתחת יד ממשלת בריטניה ולמסרו לידי מלך המשיח..” [And may we merit this year to take the Mandate out of the hands of the British Government and deliver it into the hands of King Messia...].  The Admor Rabbi Menachem Nachum Friedman of Itzkan-Shtefanesht was the son-in-law of the Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Chortkov. The latter was displeased with his son-in-law's writings, as Rabbi Menachem Nachum was well-versed in world literature, including the works of Plato, Aristophanes, Spinoza, Kant, Schiller, Nietzsche, and others. He also had vast knowledge of Jewish thought literature. This knowledge was reflected in his writings, in which he integrated the Chareidi worldview with philosophical insights from world literature.  Letters by the Admor are extremely rare!!!! *** The Admor, Rabbi Menachem Nachum Friedman (II) of Itzkan-Shtefanesht (1879–1933), the son of Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel Friedman of Azhud and the son-in-law of the Admor Rabbi Yisrael of Chortkov. He was the nephew of the  Admor Rabbi Avraham Matisyahu of Shtefanesht, and was even destined to succeed him, yet he passed away about a month before his uncle. He served as the Rav of the Itzkan community and also as an unofficial Admor during his uncle's lifetime. He authored many books and was also well-versed in science and the wisdom of philosophy.
