First Edition of Two Works by the Mekubal Rabbi Natan Shapira: Matzat Shimurim and Mamar Yayin Hameshumar - Venice, 1660 - Volume with two Kabbalistic masterpieces by the Mekubal Rabbi Natan Shapira HeYerushalmi, the son of Rabbi Reuven David ”the excellent Dayan of Krakow”, Winderman Press, ”במצות השר הגדול מורישינו”, Venice - 1660. Stefansky Yesod p. 183 of the supplements.  A. Sefer Matzat Shimurim , a Kabbalistic work on ”the secret of Mezuzh, Tzitzit, Tefillin and Birkot hashachar”. On leaf 38, a Kabbalistic illustration of Shemot Kodesh of the Tefillin . 8, [4], 9-12, 21-84 leaves. Leaf 5 was completed with a professional photocopy.  B. Mamar Yayin Hameshumar, ”On the prohinition of drinking Stam Yeinam and damaging Pei'at Zekanam”/ [8], 38 leaves. Leaf 37 was completed with a professional photocopy.  The work compiles responsa and Psakim by sages of previous generations in support of the struggle against Yein Nesech.  At the beginning of the book (leaves [2-8]), there are ”Tochachot Mussar Rabbani” - a compilation of rare writings printed here for the first time by the rabbis of Salonika and Kushta, including the Maharashdam, the Maharshach and Rabbi Chaim Bassan. The book also contains responsa by the sages of Eretz Yisrael and the vicinity: Maran the Beit Yosef, the Mabit, the Alshich Hakadosh and the Maharl of Prague/ This is a first-rate historical source for the Stam Yeinam polemic of Italy. Fair-good overall condition.  *** The Mekubal Rabbi Natan Shapira HaYerushalmi (d. ca. 1867) one of the leading Mekubalim, Dayanim and Shadarim of Jerusalem in the 17th century. Was born in Krakow to Rabbi Reuvan david Tevil who served as the Dayan of the town. His uncle is Rabbi Nosson Note Shapira author of the Megaleh Amukot. Rabbi Natan immigrated to Jerusalem, where he served as Dayan. Due to the difficult economic situation, he was sent as a Shadar of the Ashkenazic community to Europe. The Chida refers to him with the title: ”הרב הנשי”א” (ה'רב נ'תן ש'פירא י'שמרהו א'לקים). Rabbi Natan was known as the central editor of the Ari's writings based on a manuscript by Rabi Chaim Vital and was the first who published the Ari's Tikkun Chatzot in his book Tuv HaAretz. In his final years, he lived in Italy and was closely connected to the Remze - Rabbi Moshe Zacuto, who wrote the version of his tombstone.
