Chashier's Check Signed by the Admor the Author of the Divrei Shlomo fo Bobov - Given as Collateral for the Kiryat Bobov in Bat Yam - איך וועל אים אונזינען האבן בזה ובבא - touching item! - chasier's check given by the Admor Rabbi Shlomo of Bobov as collateral for his lifetime achievement, the Kiryat Bobov and Kedushat Zion institutions in Bat Yam, Israel - with his handwritten foreign signature - New York, 1966.  Background: In 1959, the Admor arrived in Israel to establish a Kiryah for the Bobov Chassidim in Israel. The Admor viewed this project as a memorial to his father, the author of Kedushat Zion, who perished in Lemberg during the horrific years of the Holocaust and whose burial place remains unknown to this day. Over the years, the Admor expressed himself in extraordinary terms regarding his deep desire for the place’s prosperity and his love for its residents. He used expressions such as ” עיני ולבי שם כל הימים” [My eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually] and regarding those who would move there: ”איך וועל אים אונזינען האבן בזה ובבא” !!!. The establishment of the Kiryah was fraught with many difficulties and unscrupulous individuals who defrauded the Admor and exploited his renowned kindness. Ultimately, however, the Kiryah was established, and at its center, the great Yeshiva building was erected, which serves as a home to hundreds of students to this very day. This is a check for $5,000 (a vast sum in those days), which Rabbeinu provided as collateral during one of the challenges faced by the institutions' administration during the initial days of the Kiryah's founding and stabilization *** The Admor Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam of Bobov (1908-2000) the son of the Kedushat Zion and the third Admor of Bobov. Already in his youth in Bobov, was known as a great Talmid Chacham. After the Holocaust, he gathered his remaining Chassidim from the DP camps and immigrated with them to the USA. He led the Bobov Chassidim for over fifty years.
