The work of the Gaon Rabbi Mordecgai of Drohobych ”known by all as Reb Mordechai Letnir” - a leading disicple of the Chozeh of Lublin and Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Ziditchov. First edition . Edited by the author's grandson Mordechai David Guttesman, at the Press of Rabbi Yaako vMeshulam Nick, Lemberg, 1877. Stefansky Chassidut 319. [4], 112 leaves. Two title pages - the first of them extremely rare and not in most known copies! Especially fine copy . Segulah to Survive Fire and for Parnasah and Longevity In his foreword to the book, the author's son Rabbi Avraham Yaakov writes: ”And it is protection to protect him from the damage of fire” . He recalls a tale about the copyist of the book, Rabbi Avraham Meir Shochet Uvodek of Skulie. A fire broke out in his home and had already reached the walls ”and he held this sacred book in his hand and trusted the piety of my father and was rescued from the fire...” . The author's son adds a blessing for Parnasah and longevity to those who purcahse the book: ואסיים בצוות ברכתי אליכם ידידים הקונים הספר וברך אתכם אלקים בכל טוב וימלא אסמיכם דשן וירבה ימיכם ושנותיכם בטוב ... ובזה ייטיב ד' לכם בזה ובבא”. Approbations The book was approbated by leading contemporary Chassidic rabbis, the Admorim Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac if Ziditchov and Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Komarno, the Yitav lev of Sighet, Rabbi Shimon Yaakov of Kosov and Rabbi Eliyahu of Drohobych and on behalf of the admorim Rabbi Avarahm Yaakov I of Sadigura, Rabbi David Moshe of Chrotekov and Rabbi Menachem Mendel the Tzemach Tzaddik of Vizhnitz. At the beginning of the book, a list of pre-subscribers with many names of contemporary Tzaddikim and Chassidim including Rabbi Hillel of Kolomyia, Rabbi Elezer Zvi of Komarno, Rabbi Yissachat berish of Vertzky, Rabbi Shmuel Zvi of Munkatch - the father of the Imrei Yosef of Spinka and more. ~ Sefer Ateret Zvi , Chassidic commentary on the Zohar by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Ziditchov. Section II and III with additions that were added for the first time in this edition ”Hagahot and Tosafot on the entire Zohar and Hagahot on Sefer Zohar Haraki'a which were found in a manuscript by the Rav the author ”. Segulah for Menuchat Hanefesh This edition was approbated by the Divrei Chaim of Sanz (in Section I) and additional Tzaddikim in addition to the approbations of the first edition. Moreover, to this section (in addition to the approbation in Section I), a special approbation was added by the successor of the Ateret Zvi - the Admor Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Ziditchov, who writes: ”שיזרז עצמו לקנות... וזכות רבינו רבן של ישראל יעמוד להם בזה ובבא, וכאשר שמעתי מפיו הקדוש שהוא מתלמידי רבי שמעון בר יוחאי זכותו יעמוד לנו, ובספר הזהר הקדוש ופירוש דודי רבינו יהיה מרגוע לנפשו”. At the beginning of the book, a list of pre-subscribers with many names of contemporary Tzaddikim and Chassidim. The most interesting of these appears at the top of the names from Tornapol, a kind of approbation by Rabbi Yosef Babad, the Minchat Chinuch, ”גם אנכי נמנה לסייע לדבר מצוה לקנות את הספר עטרת צבי...”. Especially fine copy! Ancient binding with a leather spine - slightly blemished and scuffed. A single moth perforation along several leaves. Stains and minor blemishes. Very good overall condition.
