All items of this auction that were given directly by the Rebbe were thoroughly checked by the auction house to determine who received them from the Rebbe. For most of them, we received additional evidence such as a photograph taken when the item was received and varied authenticity tests.

The recipients' names were obscured in most of the items, at the request of their owners, and will be revealed to the buyers. Be advised, further questions about the items should be directed to the auction house until 24 hours before the auction. Entering a bid is binding with all that that entails. Thank you.

Set of four volumes of Sefer Hashluchim, large, elegant albums, on chromo paper. More than 1500 pages containing color pictures of all the Rebbe's Shluchim and their fa, iles who went on Shlichut until 1991 and pictures of teachers and Chabad institutions around the world.

The albums were printed at the Rebbe's instruction and published by the Rebbe's office, Kehat Brooklyn, New York, 1991-1992.

The importance the Rebbe attributed to the book

The book's title, Sefer Hashluchim, was given to it by the Rebbe in a Sicha on the Sabbaths of Toldot and Ha'azinu 1991. During the Sicha, the Rebbe publicly expressed his gratitude to those involved in publishing the book. The Rebbe was involved in the editing of the book, often receiving updates about the Shluchim, who sent their pictures to be printed in the book, and adding his notes.

Sefer Hashluchim is one of the few books the Rebbe left on his table in his private room on Adar 27, 1992, where it remains to this day.
