The importance the Rebbe attributed to the book
The book's title, Sefer Hashluchim, was given to it by the Rebbe in a Sicha on the Sabbaths of Toldot and Ha'azinu 1991. During the Sicha, the Rebbe publicly expressed his gratitude to those involved in publishing the book. The Rebbe was involved in the editing of the book, often receiving updates about the Shluchim, who sent their pictures to be printed in the book, and adding his notes.
Sefer Hashluchim is one of the few books the Rebbe left on his table in his private room on Adar 27, 1992, where it remains to this day.
