Envelope by the Rebbe the Rayatz to Rabbi Yisroel Meisel One of the Activists who Operated with the Admor the Rayatz in Soviet Russia - Envelope of a letter by the Rebbe the Rayatz. On it, the addressee's handwritten name and address: ”לר' ישראל שי' מייזל” [To Rabbi Yisroel Meisel] - one of the activists who operated with the Admor the Rayatz in Soviet Russia. 16.5X9 cm. Stains. A small tear and fold lines. Good overall condition. Rabbi Yisroel Meisel (1918-1951) the leader of the Kiev community, a Chortekov and Boyan Chassid. Was a friend of Chabad and one of the activists who operated with the Admor the Rataz in Soviet Russia. He immigrated to Israel and was the founder and Gabai of the Klal-Chassidic synagogue of Tel Aviv. His ties with the Admor the Rayatz grew closer over the years, to the point that in one of his letters, the Admor the Rayatz referred to him as ”my soul-friend” (Yedid Nafshi). In another letter regarding a mutual meeting, the Rebbe wrote that ”it is a very necessary thing, but I do not know how it shall be.” Additionally, the Admor the Rayatz addressed him in letters with the title ”Mechutani” (my in-law), although as of now, no familial connection to the Rebbe Rayatz is known.
