Embroidered Matzah-Cover - 1859 - Matzah-cover, popular embroidery with inscriptions including ”קערה לפסח תרנו”; the year 1895 on the lower part in a kind of basket (the cover was apparently made before the Gregorian New Year); an abbreviated Shehecheyanu blessing, foreign initials, decorations of flowers and birds. Three compartments for the three Matzahs with an embroidery of Cohen, Levi and Yisrael. Ornate threads and sheer fabric around the edge. Fair condition. Unravelling and wear to the fabric.  Length: 38.5 cm. Width: 31 cm.
