The Rare Signature of the Gaon the Tzaddik Rabbi Asher Freund on a Coupon for Kimcha DePischa for His Grandfather - Jerusalem, ca. 1930 - Receipt for the Chalukah of Kimcha DePischa by the Vaad Haklali Knesset Yisrael - ”for the houses of the pious Twersky brothers” - with the handwritten signature of the Gaon the famed Tzaddik rabbi Asher Freund, who signed on behalf of his maternal grandfather Rabbi Aahron Kalminov: ”בשם זקני אהרן קלמינוב” - Jerusalem, Nissan, 1930. Extremely rare! 9X13 cm. Good condition. Rabbi Asher Freund [known as Reb Usher] (1910-2004) the son of Rabbi Aryeh Mordechai, the son of Rabbi Sender Freund the Rav of Bachta and grandson of the Admorim of Porisov, a descendant of the Yehudi Hakadosh of Peshischa. Was the son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Sternberg of Safed [a descendant of Rabbi Aharon Hagadol of Karlin]. In his youth, he was a member of the group of Avreichim, Karlin Chassidim of Jerusalem amd was a Chassid of the Admor Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin. He was close to the Admor Rabbi Avraham Elimelech Shapira of Kozhnitz. He was the founder of the Yad Ezra community and institutions and was known as a most charitable man. Was also known as a wonder-worker and many came to him for a blessing.
