The Haggadah of the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Fischer Av beit Din of karlsburg with a Gloss Handwritten by Him: Haggadah with HaGra's Commentary on Chad Gadya - Vilna, 1871 - ”Seder Haggadah shel Pesach, with several nice commentaries: A. Emet LeYaakov by Rabbi Yaakov [Krantz] of Kovno.. B. Sipurei Nifalot compiled by Rabbi Moshe of Zloshin author of Sefer Tikkun Shabbat and Sefer Mishpat Tzeddek... and a commentary on Echad Mi Yode'a by the Gaon Rabbi Yaakov [Lorberboim] of Lisa. And a commentary on Chad Gadya by t HaGra [Eliyahu] of Vilna...”. Vilna, the Press of Fin and Rosenkrantz, 1871.  Interesting additions to this Haggadah:  ~ Printed at the beginning of the Haggadah are two letters by the Maggid of Dubno to HaGra of Vilna.  ~ At the end of the haggadah, ”we have printed Shtar Mechirah for Mechirat Chametz... copied by Rabbi Avraham ben Rabbi Shmuel Yosef Yaruslimsky. Based on the opinion of Rabbi Shneur Zalman (Rabbi Shneur zalman of Liad Baal HaTnaya) and some Dinim of Mechirat Chametz”.  Otzar Sifrei HaGra 550; Yaari 1027; Otzar Hahaggadot 1379.  60 pp. Moth perforatons. Stains including many wine stains. Matzah crumbles. Taping to one leaf. Old non-matching binding with blemishes. Good overall condition.  On the title page, an ownership stamp of the Gaon Rabbi Shlomo Fischer, Rav and Av Beit Din of Karlsburg. On leaf 15, a gloss handwritten by him (trimmed). Marks of usage and many wine stains indicate this Haggadah was used by him for several years.  Rabbi Shlomo Fischer Av Beit Din of Karslburg (1852-1932), the son of Rabbi Aharon and Beila (the daughter of Rabbi Binyamin Wolf Osterlitz, Rosh Yeshiva and Dayan of Eisenstadt). The son-in-law of Rabbi Shemaya Halevi, Rav of Novo Mesto, Slovakia. His wife was the great-granddaughter of Rabbi Zvi Hirsch heller, the author of the Tiv Gittin. Studied in his grandfather's yeshiva in Eisenstadt, in the Pressburg Yehsiva under Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer, the Ketav Sofer, and in the yeshiva of Rabbi Yitzchak Dov Bamberger in Virtzburg (Würzburg). Rabbi Shlomo wrote many religious articles that were published in his lifetime in varied religious journals. Additional articles were published in his books Korbani Lachmi, Yeini im Chalavi and Neirot Shlomo. Many of his manuscripts were lost during the War of Independence in Jerusalem. His son, Rabbi Aharon, immigrated to Israel and his sons are th efamed Geonim Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Fischer, Rosh Av Beit Din of HaEidah HaChareidit and Rabbi Shlomo Fischer, the Rosh Yeshiva of Itri and Av Beit Din of the rabbininc Beit Din of Jerusalem.
