Touching Letter Handwritten by Maran Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook - Short yet touching letter handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook, the first Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi of Eretz Yisrael. The date and place of writing are not noted.  The letter was sent on the eve of Passover and is addressed to Rabbi levinsky. In his letter, Maran Rav Kook requests to take care of a certain man, writing simply yet warmly:  ”לתת למוכ”ז השוטר מצות ע”ח [על חשבוני]” [To give the policeman Matzahs at my expense].  These short lines well reflect Rav Kook's figure as a true shepherd of his community. He takes care not only of the spiritual life of his followers but also of their material needs - purchasing Matzahs at his expense for a ”policeman” whose name he does not know! [1] squared paper.
