Letter by Rabbi Natan Bersky - the Grandson of Rabbeinu Nachman of Breslov and the Baal Shem Tov. Jerusalem, 1966 - Kimcha DePischa letter by the famed Breslover Chassid Rabbi Natan Bersky, the Grandson of the founder of the Chassidut Rabbeinu Nachman of Breslov and a descendant of the Baal Shem Tov. Jerusalem, 1966.  The letter was sent on the eve of Passover to the Secretary General of the worldwide hapoel Hamizrachi, Mr. Bezalel Bizinsky . The addressee had indeed sent Rabbi natan a donation of ten Lirot, yet the rising inflation of those days greatly reduced the value of the donation. As he writes: ”כפי היוקר של כל דבר, שעלה פי שלושה – אין נחשב סכום קטן כזה”. In his distress, Rabbi Natan notes two touching reasons for his request. First, he emphasizes that he had not requested anything throughout the entire year: ”כל השנה לא דרשתי כלום”. Second, due to his physical weakness, he could not engage in the sale of books, which was how he earned his living: ”מחמת חלישת כוחי לא אפשר לי לעסוק במכירת הספרים זה כמה שנים”  The letter was written on verso of a rare printed recommendation by the Gaon Rabbi Meir Shapira, the Rosh Yeshiva of Chachmei Lublin and initiator of the Daf Yomi, which was given for Rabbi Natan Bersky.  [The gaon Rabbi Meir Shapira was especially fond of Rabbi Natan and on Rosh Hashanah, on the Kibbutz Lublin , he used to sit him beside him by the eastern wall].  [1] leaf.
