Letter by the Chassid Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Kurman-Breslover to the Gaon Rabbi meir Berlin - Nissan, 1940 - Touching Kimcha DePischa letter by teh famed Breslover Chassid Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Kurman-Breslover to the Gaon Rabbi Meir Berlin (Bar Ilan) - the youngest son of the Natziv, Rabbi Naftali Zvi Yehuda Berlin, the Rosh Yehsiva of Volozhin, and brother of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin. Jerusalem, Nissan 2, 1940.  The letter is written in getle, poetic language yet also indicates the writer's distress - severe poverty and true hunger.  On the margins of the letter, the Breslover Saraf adds a Chassidic elucidation on the matter of Kimcha DePischa:  ”צ'דקה ת'ציל מ'מות ראשי תיבות מ'צ'ת - שזוכין להנצל מסטרא דמותא של עצבון, אשר מזה נשתלשל המנהג בדבר מעות חיטים ויין לכוסות וכו' עבור עניים” Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Kurman, an important Breslov Chassid. In his youth was the secretary of Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin and was close to Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin. Later, he was one of the leaders of the Jerusalem ”Kibbutz”.  [1] leaf. 28X21 cm.  Very good condition. Filing perforations.
