Touching Museal Item: Seder Sefirat HaOmer Handwritten by a Holocaust Refugee - La Paz Bolivia, 1942 - ”צַר וּמָצוֹק מְצָאוּנִי מִצְוֺתֶיךָ שַׁעֲשֻׁעָי” (Psalms 119: 143) -  לזה אף אם מצאו אותי צר ומצוק לא עזבתי מצותיך והמה שעשועי ובהם אשמח (Metzudat David, there).  Seder Sefirat HaOmer - manuscript by a Holocaust refugee from Vienna. La Paz, Bolivia, 1942.  Large leaf in fine script containing the version of the Sefirat HaOmer blessing and the Yehi Ratzon. In a decorative illustrated border with columns and an upper arch. Written on the lower part: La Paz 1942 and the writer's name: Rudolf Kraus, Wien. The leaf is mounted on a wooden plate.  In the center of the plate, a base with removable cards for each of the days of the Sefirah - wit the version of the Sefirah for that day and the Sefirah of the weeks and days. A total of 25 cards written on both sides, for all the days of Sefirat HaOmer.  Touching! The plate was written by a Jew from Vienna who escaped Europe during the Holocaust and reached Bolivia, where he continued to observe Torah and Mitzvot. This work, made during the war, tangibly manifests the resilience of the European refugees, who continued their forefathers' tradition and re-established Jewish community life even in the most distant locations.  Condition: aging blemishes - tears and open tears along the edges. Stains and monor blemishes. The leaf is mounted on a wooden plate of approx. 46X30 cm.  A rare ephemeral item of the Jewish community of La Paz, Bolivia, during WWII - a touching indication of the revival of Jewish life after the Holocaust.  Jewish items from La Paz - and Bolivia in general - are extremely rare and almost non-existent.
