Signature of the Gaon Rabbi Ezra Tawil a Leading Sage of Aram Tzova, ”a Gift by the Author”: Pnei Habayit by Rabbi Avraham Antebe - First Edition Livorno, 1848 - Sefer Pnei Habayit, a work on the Tur and Beit Yosef Choshen Mishpat section, by Rabbi Avraham Antebe, the Chief Rabbi of Haleb, Syria. With Kuntres Beit Av on the Rambam by his father, Rabbi Yitzchak Antebe, a contemporary sage of Haleb. First edition Livorno, 1848. [4], 114, 44 leaves. Many moth perforations and moth damage. Taping and restorations. Stains. Old binding. Fair overall condition; some of the first leaves are in poor condition. On the title page, a handwritten signature and notation by Rabbi Ezra Eli Hacohen Tawil: ”הצעיר עזרא ח”ר משה עלי הכהן. מנחה היא שלוחה מאת הרב המחבר נר”ו”. Rabbi Ezra Eli Hacohen Tawil (1830-1900), the son of Rabbi Moshe who served as Rav and Av beit Din of Haleb and was also the son-in-law of Rabbi Chaim tawil/ Rabbi Ezra served as Rosh Av Beit Din of Aram Tzova and was renowned as a great Sage in Nigleh and Nistar. The Rav the Sadeh was one of his many disciples. Shut Et Sofer on the four parts of the Shulchan Aruch is based on his writings.
