Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Gaon Rabbi Dov Ber Hacohen Kook Av Beit Din of Crook - the Brother of Maran Rav Kook - Letter by the Gaon Rabbi Dov Ber Hacohen Kook - Av Beit Din of Crook and later, Rav of Afulah addressed to Mohara Ostrovsky - Afulah, 1928.  In his letter, Rav Kook apologizes for not being able to attend a meeting organized by Rabbi Ostrovsky due to current public affairs: ”למרות רצוני הוכרחתי להשאר כאן על שבת הבע”ל, מפני איזה ענינים ציבוריים... שעומדים כאן על הפרק....”. Stationery of Hotel Central Shapira Afulah.  20.5X27.5 cm.  Filing perforations. Good condition.  The Gaon Rabbo Dober Hacohen Kook (1872-1050) Av Beit Din of Crook and Bilstingrad, Russia. Worked for supporting religion in the USSR, under the Communist government as well, and was even arrested due to his ”subversive activity”. In 1925, he managed to leave Russia and immigrate to Eretz Yisrael, where he served as Rav of Afulah and later as the president of ther Harry Fischel Institute which was founded by his brother, Maran the Gaon Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook. His sons and grandsons serve as rabbis around the country, one of them being the Mekubal Rabbi Dov Kook of Tiberius.
