First Publication! Rare and Unknown Historical Photograph of Rabbi Mencham Brody Av Beit Din of Kaliv and the Rebbetzin, the Daughter of the Rav of Tosh - Vintage Photo of Rabbi Mencham Brody Av Beit Din of Kaliv, accompanied by his entourage and his wife the Rebbetzin.  This is a touching invaluable historical discovery. Whereas the picture of the Rav of kaliv, Rabbi Menachem Brody, is familiar in the Chassidic world in its incomplete version, focusing on his figure only, this phorograph reveals for the first time the full picture! Appearing on the right side of the photograph is the figure of a woman, apparently his wife the Rebbetzin - the daughter of the Admor of Tosh Rabbi Meshulam Feisch. This is an extremely rare documentation since photographs of the Rebbetzin from this period, especially alomgside her husband the Rav, are virtually non-existent. The photograph depicts the Rebbe in all his glory, holding a walking stick, ”a zilberne stecken”, going down stairs.  On verso of the photograph, an original stamp: ”Aut. Ort. Izr. Hitközség Nagykálló” [The autonomous Orthodox Jewish community of Nagykálló (known in the Jewish world as Kaliv)].  13.5X8.5 cm. Varied blemishes. Original deckle-edge photograph (photograph with jagged edges) typical of photographs from the eary 20th century.  Rabbi Menachem Brody of Kaliv (1862-1938) was the son-in-law of the Admor Rabbi Meshulam Feisch Segal Levi, the first Admor of Tosh. He served as Rav in his father-in-law’s city, and then served as Ravi of Kalov, where he established a large yeshiva where approx. 300 students learned at any one time. Over the years he had thousands of students, including leading Marbitzei Torah and Talmidei Chachamim. Students of his who survived the Holocaust told of his Avodah Bakodesh, his prayer, strength of Torah, and awe-inspiring Kedhusha. His disciple Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Gross wrote a long introduction in his book Beer Menachem, describing his wonderful Avodah.
