On his right is his brother-in-law (the son-in-law of his father the Sefas Emes) the Gaon Rabbi Chanoch Zvi Hacohen Levin, who was the Rav of Bendin and one of the leaders of Polish Jewry before WWII; on the Rebbe's left, his son and successor, the Admor of Ger Rabbi Yisroel Alter, the Beis Yisroel. Behind them are several additional Jews.  On verso of the postcard, a stamp: ”Hans Lampalzer, Photograph, Marienbad” - referring to Hans Lampalzer, a non-Jewish photographer who operated in Marienbad (today, Mariánské Lázně, the Czech Republic) in the 1920s and 1930s. Hans was known mainly for documenting the Jewish history of the town, regularly taking pictures of rabbis, Admorim and other Jewish figures who came to Marienbad. His photographs are considered an important historical source since they feature rabbinic figures (such as the Admor the Imrei Enes of Ger, the Admor of Alexander the Akeidas Yitzchak or the Maharid of Belz) in daily situations outside their Chatzer. Many of his pictures were distributed as Real Photo postcards bearing his printed signature like this one.  13.5X8.5 cm. Scratches and varied blemishes.
