Treasure Trove! Hundreds of Lengthy Glosses - Handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Yoel Herzog Av Beit Din of Leeds, the Father of the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Herzog, the Chief Rabbi - Volume of the Talmud Bavli, Vilna 1913 edition - containing the tractates of Eruvin and Psachim - printed by the Rom Widow and Brothers - [1], 108, 2-121 leaves. Wear. Good condition.  Throughout the entire volume there are glosses handwritten by Rav Herzog, most of them lengthy and significant, often three or four glosses per leaf and a total of hundreds of glosses on the deep Sugyot of Eruvin and the Sugyot of Psachim. It is obvious that this volume was studied by him frequently and he wrote his Chidushim on its sheets.  An invaluable treasure! The glosses make up an entire work! Some of the glosses were printed in Sefer Gilyonei Yoel, which was published by the Rav Herzog Institute; yet many of the glosses appearing here were omitted by the editors. Our prayer is that they reach good hands that will enable the public to enjoy this precious treasure.   The Gaon Rabbi Yoel Herzog (1865-1934) served as Rav in Lomzha and several years later, immigrated to Britain, where he served as Rav of Leeds. Several years later, he moved to Paris, where he served as Rav of the Agudat Hakehilot synagogue. In all stations of his life and although he was far from Torah centers, Rabbeinu studied diligently and wrote many Chidushim on the margins of his Gemores.
