Was a student of the Volozhin Yehiva and a disicple of Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan in Kovna, who respected and honored him as one of Gedolei Yisrael. Seeveral years after his marriage, he immigrated to the USA, where he was recognized as a Rav of stature and as an important Posek. Hence, crucial questions about Hittin and Heiter Agunah were sent to him from all over the USA. Later, he was appointed by Rabbi Yaakov Yosef as Rosh Av Beit Din of his Beit Din.
