Kitvei Hayad Haivriyim Besifriyat Havatican - by Binyamin Richler - Vatican Press - Rome, 2008 - Kitvei Hayad Haivriyim Besifriyat Havatican [Hebrew manuscripts in the Vatican Library] - decsription of the Hebrew manuscripts in the Vatican Library - by Binyamin [Benjamin] Richler - Vatican Press - Rome, 2008. The book is a result of a collaboration between the Hebrew University and the Vatican Apostolic Library. It contains a comprehensive list of the Hebrew manuscripts held by the Vatican Library, featuring paleographic and codicological descriptions with the assistance of Malachi Beit-Arié and Nurit Pasternak. The volume includes photographs of the library's treasures - such as Siddurim, Bibles, Mishnayot and more, both illuminated and non-illuminated, dating from the 9th century, the 11th century, and beyond. The Vatican Library is one of the oldest libraries in the world and contains approximately eight hundred ancient Hebrew manuscripts!!! Numerous Gedolei Yisrael have visited the library over the years, including the Admor of Radzin Baal HaTchelet, the Admor of Schotz, the Binyan Ariel, and many others. Many have visited there in an attempt to discover the vessels of the Holy Temple, and to this day, opinions remain divided on the matter (for further discussion, see Yerucham Horowitz, Elef Dor, p. 330 onwards). Enclosed is an official invitation of the Israeli embassy in Rome to the book release event. *66, [16] photographs, 678, XXVII. Soft cover. New condition.
