Copy of the Mekubal Rabbi Uri of Strelisk - with Hundreds of Lines of Glosses Handwritten by Him: Spectacular and Rare Partial Set of Mikdash Melech on Sefer Hazohar - the Zholkva 1793-1794 Chassidic Edition - Sefer Mikdash Melechת Chidushim and elucidations on the Zohar. By the Mekubal Rabbi Shalom Buzaglo. A foundational Kabbalistic work which was regularly placed on the table of leading Admorim and frequently quoted in their books. A set of three (of four) volumes. Second important edition. In the Rare Book Collection of the National lIbrary.  This is the second and rare edition of the Kabbalistic Sefer Yesod that had dozens of editions throughout the generations. An important Chassidic edition that was approbated by the Kedushat Levi of Berditchev and by the Admor Rabbi Yissachar Dov of Zlotchov the author of the Mevaser Tzeddek and Bat Eini.  The uniqueness of this copy however lies in its glorious pedigree: this is the personal copy of the Mekubal Rabbi Uri ben Asher, author of the Kabbalistic books Ptora DeAbba and Me'orei Zion. On the front guard leaf there is an ownership notation indicating the book had belonged to him:   ”לה' הארץ ומלואה, זה הס'[פר] מ”מ [מקדש מלך] שייך להרה”ג אורי בן אשר בה”מ [בעל המחבר] ספר... [פתורא דאבא] פעה”ק ירושלים”. On the sheets of all three volumes there are dozens of Kabbalistic glosses [approx. two hundred and fifty lines!], including lengthy ones. One of the glosses [Parashat Beshalach, leaf 63a] is signed at its beginning: ”אני אורי בן אשר”. Kabbalistic Chassidic glosses - many of them referring to the book Ateret Zvi by the Rav of Ziditchov.  Section I: on Sefer Bereshit. [4], 256 leaves.  Section II: on SEfer Shemot. 248 leaves.  Section IV: on Sefer Bamidbar and Sefer Devarim. 253 leaves.  Approx. 19 cm.  Ancient leather bindings, apparently original, with minor blemishes. Some moth perforations. Stains and other minor blemishes. The section of Bereshit is dismantled in its center and the leather spine is blemished. Good overall condition.  *** The author the Mekubal author Rabbi Shalom Buzaglo (1700-1780) a leading contemporary Moroccan Mekubal. Author of the famed book Mikdash Melech. A disciple of Rabbi Chaim ben Atar Hazaken [th egrandfather and Rav of the Or Hachaim]. His work Mikdash Melech became a cornerstone of Zohar study. Was considered one of the central figures who transmitted Kabbalah from North Africa to Europe.    The owner of the book and writer of the glosses, the Mekubal Rabbi Uri ben Asher of Strelisk (d. 1911)   was born in Sterlisk.   An important Belz Chassid in the time of the Admor Rabbi Yehoshua Rokeach, who encouraged him to immigrate to the Holy Land. Indeed, several years after his Rav's passing, in ca. 1901-1903, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael, settling in Jerusalem and becoming one of its leading Mekubalim.  Author of the Kabbalistic book Ptora DeAbba on the Ari's writings, which he published anonymously. The book was approbated by the Maharsham of Brezhan, who writes according to his son: ”על מעלת הרב המחבר ויראתו הקודמת לחכמתו... ואין חפצו להזכיר שמו, לכן גם ידי תכון עמו... מהראוי לתמוך בימינו ולהביא ברכה איש אל ביתו...”. His second book, Me'orei Zion, was also published anonymously.  Was the leading Rav of the Mekubal Rabbi Yeshaya Asher Zelig Margaliot who titled him ”My teacher and Rav”.  Stamps of the famed Gabai Tzeddakah of Jerusalem Rabbi Nachman Yosef Wilhelm - the grandfather of the Admorim of Rachmastrivka.
