Rare and Awe-Inspiring Manuscript: Pinkas of Chidushei Torah of the Maharam Schick Handwritten by His Disciples, Some of Which was Not Published! Includes also the Tikkun Haklali and Hanhagot by the Maggid of Zlotchov - Impressive and unique manuscript: a bound Pinkas with Chidushei Torah by the Gaon Av Beit Din of Chust and the Rosh Yeshiva of the large yeshiva of the town, the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Schick - one of the foremost Poskim of Hungary and leader of the Orthodox community during the conflict with the Neolog community. Was a leading disicple of the Chasam Sofer. Chust-Félegyháza, 1830s-1881 (the 19th century). The manuscript was written by several of his disciples, whose signatures appear at the beginning of the Pinkas and on its leaves.  The Pinkas contains Chidushim by the Maharam Schick on the tractates of the Shas and on the Torah. It was handwritten by several of his disciples including: ”הק' יוסף קליין מניר מעדיעש”; ”יצחק משה ראבינאוויטש מק”ק בערלאד”; ”צבי אריה מערמעלשטיין”; ”ישראל פיליפ”; ”יצחק מרדכי גרינהוט”. At the beginning of the Chidushim section, there is a fine illustrated title page, signed, with an ornate Shivitu alongside Ma;amarei Chazal dealing with the importance of writing Chidushei Torsh.  In addiiton, the manuscript contains additional passages of interest: Chassidic Hanhagot by Rabbi Michl of Zlotchov and a list of chapters of the Tikkun Haklali: Tikkun Habrit by Rabbi Nachman of Breslov.  Apparently, the Chidushim on the Torah were written already the the lifetime of the Maharam Schick, since he is nit referred to with the title ”זצוק”ל”; the Chidushim on the Shas, on the other hand, were apparently written in the year he passed away since his name appears with ”זלה”ה” and ”הכ”מ” (Hareini Kaparat Mishkavo), as was customary to add in the first year after one's passing .  The Chidushim on the Torah include some by his Rav, the Chasam Sofer. The content of the Chidushim was not studied; possibly, some of them, maybe even most of them, were never published .  The content of the manuscript (the pagination is not what appears on the top of the pages): * On the first flyleaf: the name of the writers and their signatures in Hebrew and a foreigh language.  * pp. 3-7: Chidushim on Masechet Gittin. * pp. 8-11: Chidushim on Masechet Avot. * pp. p. 47: illustrated Shiviti. * p. 48: Mamarei Chazal praising the writing of Chidushei Torah. * pp. 49-51: Hanhagot for Avodat Hashem by the Maggid of Zlotchov. * pp. 52: Tikkun Haklali by Moharan of Breslov. * pp. 137-174: Chidushim on the Torah - Bereshit and Shemot. * pp. 175-176: a signed letter in Yiddish. * p. 177: foreign signature.  * p. 178: additional letter in Yiddish, signed in Hebrew and a foreign language.  * p. 179. monetary list.  * pp. 180-182: addiitonal signed letters in Yiddish. * pp. 183-184: Yiddish lists. *. p. 211: monetary list from 1881. * pp. 212-213: Yiddish lists. & p. 214 (the last page): signatures in Hebrew and a foreign language, undeciphered stamp and pen trials.  In his old age, the Maharam Schick used his disciples as scribes since he became blind as he wrote in his book Shut Maharam Schick Even HaEzer Siman 32: ”בבואי מעיר וויען שהייתי שמה לבקש ולחקור ברופאים למצוא מזור ותרופה לעיני, ובעוה”ר לא מצאתי”.  Handwritten Pinkas, approx. [211] pp. of them approx. 60 written pages . Approx. 17X10 cm.  Bound in an original hard binding from the time of writing. A large part of the leaves are blank (as detailed above).  Good overall condition . Some moth perforations. The binding and several leaves are detached.  Rabbi Moshe Schick - the Maharam Schick (1807-1879)  Av Beit Din of Chust,   a leading disciple of the Chasam Sofer who used to call him fondly ”Meiner Aron Seforim”. He continued his Rav's uncompromising war against Reform Judaism. He succeeded the Chasam Sofer as leader of Hungarian Jewry.
