Rare Booklet: Hacolonialfund shel Hamizrachi by Rav Maimon - First Edition New York, 1916 - Hacolonialfund shel Hamizrachi by Rav Yehuda Leib Fischman-Maimon. Published by Hamizrachi, New York, 1916. This booklet is the founding document describing the economic-religious priciples of the movement in those years. Th epurpose of the booklet was to explain the idea of the Colonial-Fund - the fund of the Hamizrachi Movement - whose goal was to raise funds to purchase of land, estabish settlements and support th ereligious settlement of Eretz Yisrael. The booklet sought to combine the Zionist-national vision and the values of the Torah and religiou settlement of the country and to encourage the public to take part in the building of the country. The booklet indicates the modern perception of Hamizrachi - using financial European bodies (banks and funds) to realize the vision of Geulat HaAretz. It reflects the tension and the collaboration between Hamizrachi and Herzl since Herzl supported Hamizrachi's attempts to establish econimic mechanisms of its own to support the entire Zionist Movement. On the last leaf there is a nice photograph of ”דוגמא מתמונת תעודת ספר הזיכרון וספר המייסדים [של הקולוניאלפונד] בפורמט קטן”. 15, [1] pp. 22 cm. Ex-Libris of the author, Rav Maimon. Good condition.
