The Tikkunei Hazohar of Maran the Gao Rabbi Chaim Berlin! 2 SEctions of Tikkunei Hazohar First Edition of the Bnayahu Commentary by the Ben Ish Chai - Jerusalem, 1903 / Bnei Aharon - First Edition Baghdad, 1908 - Collection of [3] Kabbalistic books bound together - the personal copies of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin Av Beit Din of Moscow and Jerusalem, the son of the Natziv of Volozhin and his successor as the Rosh Yeshiva of Volozhin.  In all three books, there are his ownership stamps: ”חיים ברלין בהגאון אדמו”ר הנצי”ב זצ”ל מלפנים רב במאסקווא ואב”ד ור”מ בוואלוז'ין וכעת בירושלים עה”ק ת”ו”. * Sefer Tikkunei Hazohar by the Tana Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai with the first edition of the Bnayahu Commentary by the Ben Ish Chai. Two sectionsbound together with separate title pages. Jerusalem, 1903. On the front flyleaf of Section I and the last page of Section II, there are the personal ownership stamps of Maran Rabbi Chaim Berlin.  Tikkunei Zohar is an important and famed Segulah book. Tzaddikim used to study the book in the forty days between Rosh Chodesh Elul and Yom Kippur.  In books by Rabbi Chaim Vital and the Ben Ish Chai it is stated that the letters and words of the book per se have a Segulah and even if the reader does not understand what he reads, the mere reading is a great Tikkun.  * Bound wth the rareKabbalistic book Bnei Aharon, a work on Sha'ar Hagilgulim by the Mekubal Rabbi Shimon Aharon Agasi of Baghdad - First edition , Baghdad, 1908. 118, [1] leaves.  On the titlle page and back flyleaf there are ownership stamps of Rabbi Chaim Berlin.  The books are complete with many ownership staps of Maran the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin. Minor blemishes. Very good overall condition.  Asstated, this is th efirst editiom of the Bnayahu commentary by the Ben Ish Chai, on the Tikkun. Possib;ly, this volume was give to Rabbi Chaim Berlin by the Ben Ish Chai himself, like other books that were given to Maran, as stated on the book Nishmat Chaim, which introduces a Halachic responsum sent by the Ben Ish Chai to Rabbi Chaim Berlin in which he notes that by his request, he is sending him his book Ben Yehoyada. And so he writes : ”אשר ביקש הדר”ג לשלוח לו בן יהוידע ח”א וח”ב הנה היום כתבתי להרב הכולל ח”ר בן ציון מרדכי חזן נר”ו למסור ליד מעכ”ת בן יהוידע ח”ב שיש לי אצלו, אבל ח”א לא נמצא בעה”ק תוב”ב, ורק כאן יש אצלי, והנני שולח אותו בשבוע הבא...” (Nishmat Chaim Yud, p. 42; seeMoreshet Catalog no. 85, lot 51).  *** The Gaon Rabbi Chaim Berlin (1832–1912) was the eldest son of the illustrious Natziv of Volozhin and a great Torah leader of his generation. He served as Rav and Av Beit Din of Kobryn, Moscow, and Yalta, and was known as a staunch defender of religious observance during a time of spiritual persecution in Russia. After his father’s passing, he briefly headed the Volozhin Yeshiva. He later immigrated to Eretz Yisrael, and following Rabbi Shmuel Salant's passing, was appointed Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, though he humbly declined to accept the title officially. He was Rosh Yeshiva of Etz Chaim and was considered a pillar of the Old Yishuv in Jerusalem. Renowned for his humility, peaceful demeanor, and measured Halachic rulings, he left a lasting imprint on his contemporaries and on the path of Torah leadership in Eretz Yisrael. He passed away in 1912 and was buried on the Mount of Olives.
