Original Photograph Depicting an Unknown Portrait of the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Ladier Av Beit Din of Stryi Grandson of the Torat Chessed of Lublin and a Descendant of the Admor Hazaken Baal Hatanya - Rare photograph depicting the portrait of the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Ladier Av Beit Din of Stryi. Original sepia photograph featuring the Rav's portrait, sitting with his right hand leaning on his forehead, wearing a large velvet Kipah.  On the right corner of the photograph, there is an ambossed stamp of the photographic studio of Stryi: ”FOT. KORDYAN / STRYJ”. [1] postcard, undivided, clean of text or postage stamps. Approx. 14X9 cm. Minor aging stains. A small blemish to the lower right corner (not affecting the picture).  *** The Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Ladier Av Beit Din of Stryi (1874-1933) a descendant of the Admor Hazaken Baal Hatanya, the grandson of the Torat Chessed of Lublin, who raised and educated him after his father passed away when he was young. When his grandfather immigrated to Eretz Yisrael, he moved with his mother to Stryi, where he became a leading disicple of his uncle and stepfather - Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Halevi Ish Horowitz author of the Harei Besamim. In 1918, succeeded his Rav and stepfather as Av Beit Din of Stryi. Was an imporatnt Chabad Chassid. See: Me'orei Galicia III pp. 369-371.
