Rare Photographic Postcard Featuring the Rav the Tzaddik of Alesk - Eastern Europe Early 20th Century - Photographic pPostcard featuring the portrait of Rabbi Aharon Menachem Mendel Eichnstein of Alesk in impressive Chassidic Galician attire: weating a heafy fur coat and a typcial wide-brimmed hat. His hands are on his chest and his gaze is penetrating. On the lower part of the photograph, a printed inscription: ”צורת מרן הרב הצדיק מאלעסק ז”ל (י”ט אב תרפ”ג)”. On verso of the postcard, a purple ink stamo of the bookshop of Yisrael Zvi Blumberg in Warsaw: ”בית מסחר ספרים וטליתים ישראל צבי בלומבערג / ווארשא, נאלעווקי 31”. [1] postcard. Approx. 13X9 cm. A single moth perforation. Minor aging stains (foxing) typical of paper from this period. Fold lines. Good overall condition.  *** The Admor Rabbi Aharon Menachem Mendel Eichnstein of Alesk (ca. 1860-1923) the son of the Admor Rabbi Alexander Sender of Ziditchov and son-in-law od the Adnor Rabbi Yitzchak of Alesk whom he succeeded. During WWI, he moved to Lemberg where he passed away.
