Rare! Kuntres that was Sent by the Rebbe in the First Year of His Nessi'ut! Including the Enclosed Letter to the Famed Chassid Rabbi Yeshaya Halevi Horowiyz with the Addition of 2 Words Handwritten by the Rebbe - Igeret Kodesh by the Rebbe, general-personal letter, on the Rebbe's official stationery in the first year of his Nessi'ut, with the addition of 2 words handwritten by the Rebbe at the beginning of the letter: ”הרה”ג... הלוי” . The letter was sent to the famed Chassid the Gaon Rabbi Yeshaya Halevi Horowitz, the Rav of the Chabad community of Safed and Chief Rabbi of Western Canada. The entire letter is mimeographed, including the Rebbe's signature . At the beginning of the letter the Rebbe refers to the endlosed booklet on Lag BaOmer: ”מוסג”פ [=מוסגר פה (מצורף בזאת)] החוברת לל”ג בעומר הבע”ל [הבא עלינו לטובה] , ובל”ס [ובלא ספק] יזכה בה את הרבים באופן המתאים”.  Then the Rebbe expands on Lag BaOmer, Rashbi and studying Pnimiyut HaTorah on this day: ”ואשרי האיש, אשר ביום סגולה זה, יום גילוי פנימיות התורה, יתחזק ויוסיף אומץ לקבוע שיעורים בפנימיות התורה”. Indeed, enclosed with the letter was the aforementioned Kuntres - a Kuntres given directly by the Rebbe before the era of Chalukot! The Gaon Rabbi Yeshaya Horowitz marked varied things throughout the letter and the Kuntres, apparently in preparation for teaching it to his community, per the Rebbe's request ”יזכה בה את הרבים”.  Kuntres Lag BaOmer by the Admor Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneerson of Lubavitch. Publihsed by Otzar Hachassidim 770 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn New York. Kuntres 78 with the Torah of the Rebbe the Rayatz including the Chassidic Mamar ”Mah Yafit Umah Na'amt”, a Sichah in Yiddish and two letters in Yiddish and Hebrew. Published by his son-in-law, the Rebbe, who added references and comments. Published in the year following the Rayatz' passing, 1950. [2], 207-219, [1] pp.  [1] letter + Kuntres. Good overall condition.    *** The Gaon Chassid Rabbi Yeshaya Halevi Horowitz (1883-1978) the son of Rabbi Asher Yechezkel Halevi Horowitz and the son-in-law of Rabbi Yitzchak Loberbaum the grandson of the Rav of Safed, Rabbi Shmuel Heller. Since 1908, served as the Rav of the Chabadic community of Safed and Rav of the Tzemach Tzeddek Synagogue of the town.  Due to financial difficulties, in 1922, Rabbi Horowitz was forced to leave to Canada, where he served for over thirty years as the head of the rabbis of Winnipeg and the Chief Rabbi of Western Canada.  Authored important books including Yavo Shiloh, Pardes HaAretz and Eden Zion. In 1953, he returned to Israel. His son is the famed Chassid Rabbi Shmuel Horowirtz - an important Breslov Rav and Mashpi'a.
