Rare! General Letter Sent by the Rebbe before the Nessi'ut! Sent to the Famed Chassid Rabbi Yeshaya Horowitz of Safed - General letter on the official stationery of Beit Chayeinu 770, from Tamuz 1, 1950.  Written in the letter: ”והננו בזה לעורר את ידידינו אנ”ש תלמיד התמימים וכל מחבבי תורה שי' להתוועד בימי יב ויג תמוז הבע”ל... להתדבר להגדיל ולהרחיב מעשי ופעולות כ”ק מו”ח אדמו”ר הכ”מ בעל המעשה”. The letter was sent to the famed Chassid Rabbi Yeshaya Horowitz of Safed, the Rav of the Chabad community and Cheif Rabbi of Western Canada. The entire letter is mimeographed, including the signatures of the Rebbe and his brother-in-law the Rashag. It is a wonder that this letter was not included in the Rebbe's Igrot Kodesh! Enclosed is Kuntres Chag Hage'ulah Tamuz 12-13 1950 - Kuntres 80 - which was apparently sent alongside the general letter.   [1] letter + Kuntres. Fold lines and stains. Good overall condition.  *** The Gaon Chassid Rabbi Yeshaya Halevi Horowitz (1883-1978) the son of Rabbi Asher Yechezkel Halevi Horowitz and the son-in-law of Rabbi Yitzchak Loberbaum the grandson of the Rav of Safed, Rabbi Shmuel Heller. Since 1908, served as the Rav of the Chabadic community of Safed and Rav of the Tzemach Tzeddek Synagogue of the town.  Due to financial difficulties, in 1922, Rabbi Horowitz was forced to leave to Canada, where he served for over thirty years as the head of the rabbis of Winnipeg and the Chief Rabbi of Western Canada.  Authored important books including Yavo Shiloh, Pardes HaAretz and Eden Zion. In 1953, he returned to Israel. His son is the famed Chassid Rabbi Shmuel Horowirtz - an important Breslov Rav and Mashpi'a.
