Signature of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson and Stamps of the Rav of Rozdół: Sefer Derech Hayashar - First Edition Vilna, 1864 - Sefer Derech Hayashar, an elucidation on Talmudic Aggadot Chazal. A work by the Gaon Rabbi Zvi Pinchas Lifshitz, Ram of Bobroisk. First edition, 1864. 74 leaves. Stains. Some moth perforations. Original binding, slightly worn with a blemished leather spine. Good overall condition. The Chabadic Significance of the Book The book is adorned with approbations by leading Gedolei Hador including Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Vitebsk - one of the first Chassidim of the Admor Hazaken, who was later connected to the Mitteler Admor and the Tzemach Tzeddek. Following the approbation, there is a lsit of rabbis who supported with their handwritten signatures including the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Lubavitch (referring, of course, to the Admor the Tzemach Tzeddek) and Rabbi Hillel of Poritz (Parychy) (the Gaon Rabbi Hillel of Poritz who served at the time as Moreh Tezddek of Bobroisk). Signature of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson On the front flyleaf, there is a handwritten signature: ”לוי יצחק שניאורסאהן” - we did not manage to find out to whom this refers. Possibly, this is the grandfather of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Schneerson of Poddobrianka - the grandson of the Admor the Tzemach Tzeddek of Lubavitch and grandfather of the Gaon Mekubal Rabbi levi Yitzchak, the father of the Rebbe who was named after him. Stamps of the Rav of Rozdół On the flyleaf and title page, stamps of ”Rabbi Yehuda Yechiel Taub, the son of the Gaon of Rozdół, Marghita”. The son and successor of the Admor Rabbi Pinchas Chaim Taub of Rozdół, the father of the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel Taub of Kaliv.
