Letter with the Rebbe's Blessing for a Good Year and Support for a Public Activist - Elul, 1967 - Typewritten letter on the Rebbe's official stationery from Elul 9, 1967, addressed to a senior Zionist activist. In the letter, the Rebbe, among others, thanks him for assisting Chabad and especially Kfar Chabad.  This Igeret Kodesh indicates the Rabbe's known concern for the Kfar and its development; it also indicates the addressee's closeness with the Rebbe and the Rebbe's appreciation of him: ”ובודאי ובודאי לא רק ימשיך אלא גם יוסיף בזה, כמו שצריך להיות בכל דברים טובים. ובפרט שיש בילבולים המעכבים התפתחות הכפר. .. מעכבים זה למפני המורא מה יאמרו... ומצער להאריך בדבר המצער. והרי גם בשורותי אלו יצאתי מגדרי , ורק בסמכי על ידידותו כתבתי האמור בבטחון שאלו הם דברים בינו לביני ותו לא” [And certainly, most certainly, [he] will not only continue but also increase in this, as ought to be in all good matters. Especially since there are confusions that hinder the development of the Kfar... and they hinder it because of the fear of 'what will people say'... and it is painful to elaborate on such a painful matter. Indeed, even in these lines of mine, I have stepped outside my usual custom, and only relying upon his friendship have I written the above, with the confidence that these matters are strictly between him and me, and nothing more].   At the end of the letter, the Rebbe's greeting for a good, sweet, joyful and healthy year: ”בנוסח המסורתי אאחל לו ולמשפחתו כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה, ויבשר טוב בכל האמור, מתוך שמחה ובריאות הנכונה” - and his handwritten signature.  On the margins of the letter, the Rebbe writes:  ”אינו מזכיר דבר אודות הסתדרותו הוא, אבל תקותי שמתאים לשיחתנו כן כמה פעמים - מנצל הכשרונות שחונן בהם והאפשריות שלו לטובת הכלל, על ידי שחזר ונכנס לזירה הציבורית. ואשמח להוודע ממנו אשר תקותי האמורה באה לפועל”  [He does not mention anything regarding his own settling [of matters], but it is my hope that corresponding to our conversations several times - he is utilizing the talents with which he was blessed and his opportunities for the public good, by re-entering the public arena. And I would be pleased to learn from him that my aforementioned hope has indeed materialized].  Throoghout the letter, several corrections and additions of letters handwritten by the Rebbe.   Approx. 28X21 cm.  Stains and fold lines.
