Likkutei Amarim Tanya, the Prototype for All Subsequent Editions - Vilna 1900 - The prototype of the Tanya by the Admor HaZaken Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, with Igeret HaTshuva and Igeret HaKodesh. “New, revised edition.” This edition was the first revised edition after many previousones, based on various manuscripts with important additions, which received the approval of Chabad Admorim and is considered a prototype for subsequent editions . In this copy, one of the sheets is missing and was replaced with another double sheet so that leaves 89, 91, 93 and 95 are double whereas leaves 90, 92, 94 and 96 are missing. Wide margins! Moth perforations; moth damage to the last leaves affecting the upper edges yet not the text. Stains and other minor blemishes. Good overall condition. Fine new binding.  An interetsing handwritten dedication on the title page:  ”לידידנו היקר והנעלה מר רפאל סיתהון, לעילוי נשמת אבינו היקר הרה”ג חזקיה שבתי יהושע זצוק”ל שנלב”ע בכ”ג מנחם תשט”ו. רפאל מנחם ודויד יהושע” [To our dear friend Mr. Raphael Sethon, for the ascent of the soul of our dear father Rabbi Chizkiyah Shabtai Yehoshua who passed away on Menachem 23, 1955. Raphael Menachem and David Yehoshua]. The signatories are the sons of the Gaon Rabbi Chizkiyahu Shabtah (Yehoshua) (1862-1955) Av Beit Din of the Sephardic community of Jerusalem, the acting Chacham Bashi of Jaffa and Chacham Bashi of Tripoli, Libya and Haleb, Syria.
