Double Mazel Tov - Special Letter of Blessings by the Rebbe for Setting a Wedding Date and a Birthday Alike - Elul, 1966 - Important letter with the Rebbe's handwritten signature; letter with many Mazel Tov greetings. The letter, which was written in Elul 1967 in Brooklyn New York, contains blessings for a Shiduch, success of the Zivug, building a Bayit Ne'eman and addiitonal blessings.  The letter begins with the words: ”מזל טוב, מזל טוב”.  The double blessing indicates an abundance of blessing. Exceptionally, the Rebbe ends his letter with the same words: ”בברכת מזל טוב מזל טוב, מ. שניאורסאהן . Thus, the Mazel Tov blessing appears four times in the letter, which is signed by the Rebbe.  The concept of Mazal takes acenytral place in Rabbinbic literature, Kabbalah and Chassidut. In the Gemore, Masechet Shabbat (156a) it says:  ”רבי חנינא אומר: מזל מחכים, מזל מעשיר”,  and in Masechet Moed Katan (28a):  ”אמר רבא: חיי, בני ומזוני – לאו בזכותא תליא מילתא אלא במזלא” . The blessing of Mazel Tov became the blessing most identified with joyous moments.  This is thus an extraordinary document - a kind of spiritual amulet hand-signed  by one of the greatest Jewish leaders. In it, the Rebbe repeats the Mazel Tiv blessings not once or twice, but four times! The Rebbe also added personal letters to the couple, writing: ”ושתהיה (החתונה) בשעה טובה ומוצלחת ויבנו בית בישראל, בנין עדי עד על יסודי התורה והמצוה כפי שהם מוארים במאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות”. Alongside these blessings, the Rebbe adds near his signature, two additional significant blessings : ”ובברכה (בקשר ליום הולדת) לשנת הצלחה” - according to Chassidim, the blessing of success encompasses all blessings.  Since the letter was sent close to Rosh Hashanah, it also contains a blessing for the New Year: ”ולכתיבה וחתימה טובה, מ. שניאורסאהן.”. After his signature, the Rebbe customarily adds: ”הפ”נ יקרא בעת רצון על ציון כ”ק מו”ח אדמו”ר זצוקללה”ה נבג”מ זי”ע”. Typewritten letter on the Rebbe's aerogram .
