Interesting Letter by the Committee for Supporting Mamad Beit Chayeinu Shlita Signed by the Rebbe the Rayatz' Secretary Rabbi Moshe Leib Rodstein - New York Menachem Av, 1949 - Interesting letter on the official stationery of the Committee for Supporting Mamad Beit Chayeinu Shlita on 770 Eastern Parkway, from Menachem Av 15, 1949.  Signed by the Rebbe the Rayatz' secretary Rabbi Moshe Leib Rodstein and addressed to the famed Chassid Rabbi Yeshaya Halevi Horowitz, the Rav of the Chabad community of Safed and Chief Rabbi of Western Canada. In the letter, Rabbi Moshe Leib writes that the Chassid Rabbi Menachem Zeev Greenglass was sent to them ”בשביל מעמד בית חיינו... לעורר את אנ”ש יחיו על חובתם בקדש... החזקת בית חיינו שליט”א, שהוא מהדברים העומדים ברומו של עולם, והפתיל הקדש המאחד ומקשר את אנשי המעמד לנשיא ישראל וקדושו, הוד כ”ק אדמו”ר שליט”א, ועם זה להיות זוכים בכל הפעולות הטובות והכבירות הנעשים על ידו לטובת כלל ישראל...”. Good overall condiiton.  *** The Chassid Rabbi Moshe Leib Rodstein (Zusha Shifrin; 1900-1968) was born in Lithuania as Zusha Shifrin and during his escape in WWI, changed his name to Moshe Leib Rodstein.  Served as Shadar of the Admor the Rayatz to Poland and then as his personal secretary. Was one of the enthusiastic activists of Lubavitch. After the Rayatz' passing, Rabbi Rodstein was a member of the committee that made efforts to crown the Rebbe as Nassi and later  served as the Rebbe's secretary.
