Rare! Kuntres that was Sent by the Rebbe in the First Year of His Nessi'ut! Including the Enclosed General Letter - Elul 13, 1951 - Igeret Kodesh by the Rebbe, general-personal letter, on the Rebbe's stationery from Elul 13, 1951, the first year of the Rebbe's Nessi'ut. To the famed Chassid Gaon Rabbi Yeshaya Halevi Horoitz, the Rav if the Chabad community of Safed and the Chief Rabbi of Western Canada. The letter is mimeographed including the Rebbe's signature which is also photocopied. At the beginning of the letter, the Rebbe refers to the enclosed Kuntres: שלוח בזה קונטרס ח”י אלול הבע”ל [הבא עלינו לטובה], ו בודאי יזכה בו, את כל מי שהשפעתו עליהם, באור תורה ובמאור שבתורה אשר בקונטרס ”. The Rebbe expands on Eliul 18 and ends with ”בברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה”. As stated in the letter, the aforementioned Kuntres is enclosed with it - Kuntres given directly by the Rebbe eveb before the era of the Chalukot! Rabbi Horowitz added notations throughout the letter and the Kuntres, apparently in preparation for teaching it to his community in accordance with the Rebbe's request: ”ובודאי יזכה בו, את כל מי שהשפעתו עליהם”. A small tear to the lower corner of the letter, Good overall condition *** The Gaon Chassid Rabbi Yeshaya Halevi Horowitz (1883-1978) the son of Rabbi Asher Yechezkel Halevi Horowitz and the son-in-law of Rabbi Yitzchak Loberbaum the grandson of the Rav of Safed, Rabbi Shmuel Heller. Since 1908, served as the Rav of the Chabadic community of Safed and Rav of the Tzemach Tzeddek Synagogue of the town. Due to financial difficulties, in 1922, Rabbi Horowitz was forced to leave to Canada, where he served for over thirty years as the head of the rabbis of Winnipeg and the Chief Rabbi of Western Canada. Authored important books including Yavo Shiloh, Pardes HaAretz and Eden Zion. In 1953, he returned to Israel. His son is the famed Chassid Rabbi Shmuel Horowirtz - an important Breslov Rav and Mashpi'a.
