Rare Second Edition of Siddur with Divrei Elokim Chaim! Siddur Baal HaTanya Based on the Ari Version - Berditchev, 1818 - ”Seder Tefillot for all year round based on the Ari version”, with an elucidation on the words... based on Kavanot HaAri” by the Admor Hazaken Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, Baal HaTanya. Berditchev, 1818. Second, sought-after edition that includes dozens of leves with Divrei Elokim Chaim that were printed for the first time in this edition.  In the Kopust 1816, printed for the first time alongside the version of the prayer were Chassidic Mamarim of the Admor Hazaken on the words of the prayer. Even since, the work was known as Siddur with Divrei Elokim Chaim.  This Berditchev edition is the second one of the Siddur. This edition is especially important since for the first time, approx. ten new Mamarim on the prayer were added, printed on more than fifty pages. Before each of these new Mamarim, inverted brackets were printed and on the title page of the book, the following was written: ובתוספות מרובה עשרה בוגין [=קונטרסים] מדברי קודש... מעניני תפילה שלא נדפסו בסדורי הקודמין”, that is, the Kopust 1816 edition.  As stated on the title page, this edition was edited by Rabbi Menachem Nachum, the Mitteler Admor's son, with his brother-in-law Rabbi yekutiel Zalman, the Mitteler Admor's son-in-law and the grandson of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev.  This is a complete copy of the Siddur containing both its sections in a single binding, with separate title pages for each section:  * Section I - prayers for the days of the week, ten chapters: Tzitzit, Tefillin, Tefillah, Keriat Shema, Nefilat Apayim, Talmud Torah, Netilat Yadayim, Birkat hamzaon, Drushim for a wedding and Milah.  8Section II - prayers for Sabbath and the Moadim, sixteen chapters: Kavanat hamikveh, Sabbath, Rosh Chodesh, Moadim, Elul, Rosh Hashanah, Teki'ot, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Lulav, Chanukkah, Purim, Passover, Lag BaPmer and Shavu;ot.  Section I: [1], 5-46, [1], 49-94, 93-100, 105-169 leaves. 21 cm. Good condition. Ancient signatures. Aging stains. Moth perforations to the first leaves, professionally restored.  Section II: [1], 2-162 leaves. 21 cm. Fair condition. Aging stains. Many moth marks affecting the text, some restored with paper.  The copy is complete, except for the printed half-title with red lettering. The paper is healthy, in a bluish-greenish shade. New leather binding.  Stefansky ChSSIDUT 410.  *** Siddur with Divrei Elokim Chaim  The Siddur of the Admor Hazaken, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi is one of the central works in the history of the Chassidic Nusach. Alongside the prayer text, the author also included important Halachic works, including Seder Hachnasat Shabbat, Hilcheta Rabbata LeShabbata, Seder Netilat Yadayim LeSeudah and Seder Birkot HaNehenin.  In several of the Halachot, the Rav ruled in the Siddur differently from his Psikot in the Shulchan Aruch; therefore, it is accepted in Chabad Chassidut to view the Siddur's Psikot as his later and final authority. Additionally, he integrated two Chassidic Mamari into the Siddur: HaKol Kol Yaakov and He'arah LeTikkun Chatzot.  The Siddur had more than two hundred editions and many bibliographic and Halachic works were written on it including Shaar Hakollel by Rabbi Avraham David lawat and Piskei Hasiddur by Rabbi Chaim Na'eh.
