Copy of the Admor Rabbi Yehudaleh of Djikov with Dozens of Signatures Handwritten by Him! Glosses from the Time of Printing: Amudei Golah with an Approbation by Baal HaTanya - Liadi, 1805 - Sefer Amudei Golah by Rabbeinu Yitzchak of Corbeil Baal Hatosafot, known as Sefer Mitzvot Katan. Printed in Liadi in 1805. This is the only Hebrew book known of that was printed in Liadi in the time of the Admor Hazaken Baal HaTanya and with his rare approbation.  Rare, relatively complete copy: [1], 61, 63-117 [i.e. 119] leaves. Mispagination. 21 cm. Printed on bluish paper, healthy and strong. Stains. Some moth perforations. Minor taping to several leaves. Other minor blesmishes. Good overall condition.  Sacred copy with dozens of signatures The personal copy of the Admor Rabbi Yehuda Horwitz of Djikov, a foremost Tzaddik of the previous generation and grandson of the Admor the Ahavas Yisrael of Vizhnitz. The book contains - on the front and back guard leaves - dozens of signatures and notations in Hebrew and a foreign language handwritten by Rabbi Yehudaleh, indicating the book was frequently studied by him.  The reason for the many signatures and notations is that due to his Dveikut and Amal Torah, Rabbi Yehudaleh suffered from severe headaches. For relief, he used to write words over and over - which is what can be seen in this book as in many other books he owned.  Ancient glosses On the leaves of the book there are also scholarly glosses and notations in Rabbinic Ashkenazi script from the time of printing. Their content indicates they were written by a Talmid Chacham who lived and operated int he time the book was printed - in the lifetime of the Admor Hazaken Baal HaTanya.  Beneath the signature of the Admor Hazaken, on the margins of the approbation, the first owners of the book added a short explanation on the identity of the approbator (!): “בעל המחבר ספר לקוטי אמרים תניא וספר הלכות תלמוד תורה ולוח ברכות הנהנין” [author of Sefer Likutei Amarim Tanya and Sefer Hilchot Talmud Torah and the Table of Birkot Hanehenin]. Since he does not mention the Shulchan Aruc Haravm which was published for the first time in the mid 1810s, after the author's passing, the glosses were clearly written in the 1800s - in the lifetime of Baal HaTanya.  This is thus a book of double and triple historical-Chassidic significance: it is a rare book printed in Liadi; it contains and approbation by the Admor Hazaken; it contains glosses from his time; and it is a copy of a foremost Tzaddik and wonder-worker.  * * * The Tzaddik Rabbi Yehuda Horowitz of Djikov, known as Rav Yudaleh (1905-1989) was the son of Rabbi Alter Yechezkel Eliyahu Horowitz of Djikov, the son-in-law of the Ahavat Yisrael of Vizhnitz. He was a Rav and Admor of the Djikov-Ropshitz dynasty. He studied under Rabbi Meir Arik in Tarnov. At the age of 20, he received his Hora'ah Semicha by Rabbi Avraham Mendel Steinberg, the Rav of Brody and in 1936, was appointed Dayan in Klausenburg. After the war, immigrated to Jerusalem and served as a Mashpi'ah at the Dushinsky Yeshiva and as head of the famed Tarbitza Kollel. His famed disciples include the Admor of Vizhnitz Shlita, the Admor of Toldot Avraham Yitzchak Shlita, Rabbi Yaakov Meir Shechter Shlita and many more.  Left deep glosses on almost every book of his library! Over the years, a team of talmidei Chachamim published the Gilyonei Mahari based on his writings. Passed away in Sivan 1989 and was laid to rest in London.
