Rare Letter Full of Ahavat Yisrael by Ohavam shel Yisrael - Rabbi Meir'l of Amshinov - New York, 1954 - Touching letter with historical significance, handwritten and signed by the Admor Rabbi Yerachmiel Yehuda Meir Kalisch who was known as Rabbi Meir'l of Amshinov - one of the leading Admorim of Poland after the Holocaust, who was known for his endless Ahavat Yisrael and devotaion to eaxh and every Jew. New York, 1954.  The letter is addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Nechemya Malin, the Rosh Yeshiva of Knesset Yehuda in Washington and in Israel, the son of Rosh Av Beit Din of Brisk the Gaon Rabbi Isser Yehuda Malin.  In his letter, which indicates his compassion and Ahavat Yisrael, the Rebbe asks for his help for the Holocaust survivor Rabbi Simchah Bonem Lubark, who was making his way from Sweden to the USA. The Rebbe pleads with his close friend to help him recover after what he had suffered.  Like a compassionate father caring for his son, the Rebbe is not content with a general letter of recommendation, but delves into the finest details of the assistance required. He asks to draw him close socially and spiritually, to secure a roof over his head, and to extend a helping hand with anything he might need: ”to draw him close and befriend him... and to endeavor that he obtain a proper apartment... and with all that he requires in both counsel and deed... and show him a welcoming face”. It is particularly interesting to observe the nature of the relationship between the Chassidic Rebbe and the Lithuanian Rosh Yeshiva. The Rebbe addresses him in the second person - 'you' - rather than using the honorific language customary in rabbinic correspondence. He even inquires after the well-being of his brother, ”Rabbi Meir”, and shares news of his own welfare. This style of writing reflects a deep and direct friendship. Thus relationship began during the years of war. The Rebbe of Amshinov and his family reached Shanghai with the Mir Yeshiva. Among the others who escaped to Shanghai were the brothers Rabbi Nechemya and Rabbi Meir Malin. Later, the three of them arrived in the USA and then immigrated to Israel. This letter indicates a rare and touching chapter of the relationship between Gedolei Torah and Chassidut, which was formed out of a sense of shared destiny during the days of destruction.  This is an authentic document commemorating a rare encounter between leading rabbis and which combines history, sublime human content and the handwriting of a foremost Tzaddik.  [1] leaf. 22 cm. Good overall condition.  ***   The Admor Rabbi Yerachmiel Yehuda Meir Kalisch of Amshinov (1901-1976) known as Rabbi Meir'l, the son and successor of the Admor Rabbi Shimon Shalom Kalisch of Amshinov.  During the olocaust, he was miraculously saved by escaping with his father and other members of the family to Shanghai. After the war, he moved to the USA and then to Jerusalem, wjere he established his Beit Midrash and founded the Amishnov Yeshiva.  Was famed for his extraordinary Ahavat Yisrael, humility and Avodat Hashem.  The son of his daughter is the Admor Rabbi Yaakov Aryeh Milikovsky, the Admor of Amshinov Shlita.  The addressee, the Gaon Rabbi Nechemya Malin (1919-2014) the Rosh Yeshiva of Knesset Yehuda in Washington and in Israel, the son of Rosh Av Beit Din of Brisk the Gaon Rabbi Isser Yehuda Malin. Over the years, Rabbi Nechemya expanded the Knesset Yehuda Torah enterprise, establishing a Talmud Torah, Yeshiva Ktanah and Kollel alongside the large yeshiva.  His Chidushei Torah were published in the book Zichon Beit Yehuda (Jerusalem 1999).
