Interesting Letter Handwritten by the Gaon Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer the Even HaEzel - Jerusalem, 1932 - Important and touching letter handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer author of Even HaEzel. Jerusalem, 1932.  The letter, which is addressed to the Gabai of Otzar Hachessed - Keren Shmuel, reveals a personal moment in the life of a contemporary Gedol Hador. The person who held the most senior position - head of the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah in Israel and the Rosh Yeshiva of the largest yeshiva in Israel is forced to appeal for a loan to cope with financial difficulties.  His words indicate just how difficult this situation is for him. He shares that he was forced to borrow money with interest so as not to rely on charity funds, but he can no longer bear the burden. The reason for his distress is twofold: the administration of the Etz Chaim Yeshiva, which he headed, cut his salary by approximately thirty percent, while at the same time, his household expenses increased following the marriage of his daughter - ”with my son-in-law, the Gaon Rav” - the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Ben Menachem (Pachiner).  Gedol hador asks the charity fund for a loan of a hundred Lirot, which would be guaranteed by the Etz Chaim Yeshiva and repaid with a deduction from his salary.  The letter sheds light on the humility and integirty of the Even HaEzel, who does not hide his situation and only asks for a loan that would be repaid from his salary.  [1] leaf. 28 cm.
