Historical Letter Handwritten by the Gaon Av Beit Din of Jerusalem Author of the Minchat Yitzchak about the Printing of His Monumental Shut Series - Manchester, 1959 - Letter of historical significance, handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Yaakov Weiss, author of Shut Minchat Yitzchak and aon Av Beit Din of  the Eidah Chareidit of Jerusalem. One of the earliest letters by him that was ever auctioned. Written in 1959 when he was Av Beit Din of Manchester, England.  The letter is addressed to the Gaon Rabbi Asher Feuchtwanger, Av Beit Din and Rosh Yeshiva of Letchworth, England and author of the books Asher Lamelech.  The letter was sent in gratitude for his donation to the publishing of the monumental Shut series Minchat Yitzchak, the work after which the author became famed. Maran blesses the addressee and expresses his gratitude.  Letters from the time the Minchat Yitzchak served as Av Beit Din of Manchester are extremely rare and this is of the earliest letters by him that was ever auctioned.  [1] leaf. 20 cm. Good overall condition.  *** The Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Weiss, author of the Minchat Yitzchak, Gaon Av Beit Din of Jerusalem (1902-1989) one of the leading Poskim and Meshivim of his generations.  Was a Moreh Hora'ah in Grosswardein, Romania. After the Holocaust, immigrated to England and served as Rav of Manchester, where he established his status as a leading Posek.  In 1970, by the guidance of the Admor Rabbi Yoel of Satmar, he was chosen as Rosh Av Beit Din of HaEidah HaChareidit of Jerusalem and later as Gaon Av Beit Din .
