Extraordinary Historical Discovery!!! Unknown Piyyutim Handwritten and Signed by the Mekubal Rabbi Shalom Shabazi - Yemen, ca. 1640 - אֶחְתֹּם לְשִׁיר מְהַלְּלִי / בְּשֶׁבַח לְצוּרִי וְגוֹאֲלִי / יִסְלַח לְכָל מַעֲלָלִי / כִּי הוּא בְּחַסְדּוֹ מְנַהֲלִי / חֶבְרַת אֲצִילַי / שִׂישׂוּ וְשִׂמְחוּ בְּגִילִי (from the manuscript) This is one of the most important discoveries in the field of Yemenite Jewish Heritage: four fragments written on both sides with more than four hundred words handwritten by the Mekubal Rabbi Shalom Shabazi - the Rashash, the foremost Yemenite poet and one of the most lofty spiritual figures in the history of Eastern Jewry.  Yemen, ca. 1640.  The remnants of the manuscript were taken from an ancient binding Genizah. They contain unknown Piyyutim handwritten and signed by the Rashash. His signature appears in the center of the largest framgment: ”אל שבזי משת”א” - evidence of the creation process of the leading Yemenite Paytan.  The manuscript was studied by Prof. Yehuda Amir, one of the leading scholars in Israel and abroad of Yemenite Jewry and the work of Rabbi Shalom Shabazi, who confirmed with his signature that this is definitely the authentic manuscript handwritten by Rabbi Shalom Shabazi and that the Piyyutim it contains are unknown and do not appear in printed literature or familiar manuscripts. His authentication is enclosed.  The significance of the manuscript far exceeds the boundaries of collecting. This is a literary, historical, and cultural discovery of the first order, enriching the corpus of Shabazi's work - the man who, more than any other figure, shaped the poetry, spirit, and inner world of Yemenite Jewry. For centuries, his poems have become timeless cultural treasures of the Yemenite tradition, and many of them have even been integrated into thePiyyut heritage of all Israel. Any new discovery from his creative output is an event of exceptional research significance. In addition to its historical significance, the manuscript has value as a Segulah . For many generations, manuscripts and signatures of Gedolei Yisrael - of all communities and circles - served as a Segulah for protection, blessing and success . All the more so this manuscript, leaves of sacred poetry, handwritten and signed by one of the two Anakim the Yemenite exile had grown (both of them, by the way, known by their Hebrew initials: ”רש”ש”).  [4] fragments, written on both sides. Handwritten entirely by the Rashash.  Fair condiiton.  Enclosed is an original signed authentication.  *** The Mekubal Rabbi Shalom Shabazi (1629-1695) known by Yemenite Jews as Abba Shalom Shabazi was the foremost Yemenite poet and one of its central Mekubalim. A wondrous tradition widespread among Yemenite Jews relates that on the day of his passing, the Mekubal Rabbi Shalom Sharabi - the second Rashash - was born, and both miraculously shared the exact same acronym. The Rashash had vast knowledge of all subjects of the Torah - Nigleh and Nistar - and also practiced Kabbalah. More than a thousand Piyyutim are attributed to him; of them, only about five hundred are known of. His works integrate deep Kabbalistic ideas and his Piyyutim accompany Yemenite Jews on Sabbaths and Moadim and on joyful events.  This is thus an original remnant from the creative work of the Rashash himself - a document of the highest research, cultural, and spiritual significance, which adds a new layer to the legacy of Yemen'sforemost poet and one of its greatest Mekubalim.
